We are a couple in our early 60's and have children from past marriages, but they are grown. Most of the time, it will just be the two of us traveling and participating in these home exchanges. Phil lives in Cambridge, MA and owns his own business. Lizbeth lives in Edmonds, WA and works as an Ecologist for the state of Washington and is a Research Scientist at the University of Washington. We own this condo together and travel together.
We have one senior cat named Sherman. He is a recent addition to the family. We brought him home from a shelter as he is in need of a quiet, peaceful place to retire. His last two families had to give him up and/or passed away. He is self sufficient and sleeps most of the time in his bed near the fireplace.
Lizbeth has completed 5 home exchanges in the past with my home in NE Seattle. My daughters and I have used other home exchange organizations for visits in Paris, Venice, Geneva, Maine, USA and London. Now that I own again, with my partner, we are excited to get back into exchanging homes while traveling! I can provide references from most of these home exchange companies, I am still in touch with them via FaceBook.

Description of the home we are offering for exchange
In between Mt Ranier National Park and the North Cascades National Park, San Juan Islands and literally next to the ferry to the Olympic National Park, Edmonds is a perfect setting for visiting all of the beautiful places in Washington State.
Edmonds is the cutest town in this state! Our place is right in the middle of what is called the "Edmonds bowl". You will be able to walk to downtown Edmonds with all of it's charming shops, restaurants, bars and cafes, the ferry, the marina, the waterfront, Civic Park (with tennis courts, basketball, soccer, etc.). You can get into downtown Seattle via the light rail link (Mountlake Terrace station) or the Amtrak station that is also walkable from the condo. You can also get to Vancouver, British Columbia via the Amtrak station that is right in downtown Edmonds.
We have four floors of space in this condo (no other condo above or below us) with wonderful views of the Salish Sea (Puget Sound) and Olympic mountains from the top/main floor and the roof deck. This condo has two bedrooms and two and half bathrooms. The third floor host the kitchen, breakfast bar, dining area and living area, along with a half bath. On the second floor, one will find the two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The first floor is the entry way and a few steps below this, the garage/basement area.
In addition to one bicycle (we will be getting another this summer) we also have 3 electric scooters that can be used to get around town, go to the grocery store, anywhere you want to go!
This is quiet space, yet, close to everything you need. The roof deck will soon have a wood deck that covers part of the space with a loveseat and table along with a swing, water feature and many plants. I love plants! ;) On the other side of the roof deck, there will be a table with stools and umbrella, bird bath/water feature and two small trees, one with a bird feeder. We have included a couple of veggie planters (see photos) which have various veggies planted, feel free to forage!

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
The City of Edmonds was incorporated in 1890. At the time, it was a blue collar town and the main employer was a shingle mill. Many of the original buildings downtown remain today.
The downtown is very walkable, safe and a destination for many from surrounding cities. The farmers market on Saturday mornings is walkable from the condo and one can find many stalls with fruits, vegetables, flowers, arts and crafts. There are quite a few great restaurants, cafes, shops and parks within town.
There is a marina, docks to fish from, a beach, the ferry to Kingston (the Olympic peninsula) and Sunset Blvd where folks love to walk and catch the sunset. Marina park has kayaks to rent, and a great beach to enjoy, in addition to the other beaches on each side of the ferry terminal (Bracket's Landing). Edmonds hosts a lot of great live music throughout the summer and other events happening throughout town.
Additionally, it is the home of the famous travel writer - Rick Steves, seen in this video about our lovely town.
